Braiden and Ashley's first day of school in California

When I first heard my kids were going to have to wear uniforms to school I was horrified thinking how was I ever going to get Ashley to wear a uniform? well the school they were suppost to go to was to full for the 2nd grade class they were assigned to another school. The other school does not require uniforms but to my suprise my kids LOVE theyre uniforms so they wore them anyway on theyre first day to the other school my kids crack me up.

After my cousins Emily Brown's Homecoming from her LDS mission in Ft. Lauderdale we went to the lucheon the kids enjoyed their time with their cousins Kaitlyn and Morgan and feeding the ducks.

Happy Mothers day card from Braiden

Braiden gave me a mothers day card that made me feel like a million bucks I am not going to correct the spelling or punctuation Here is what it says....
I love you because....You help me clean my room. You clean the close and the dishes you buy me toys sports stuff, and close you take care of the dog. You take care of us you do everything for us you are the best mom in the unvers. you help us with our reports, you take days off for us. You tell us the rite stuff you sent us to school on time all the time. You read to us we read to you. We love you you love me we area happy Family, Love Braiden

Message from my neighbor Dawn Hood "Ok so your kids are the awesomeist (if that is even a word), my son is having some issues with one of the neighbor girls and chase got after her. so i do not know if they thought he was getting after your kids, but they made peanut butter and jelly sandwhiches and an apology note and left them by the door!! It was so precious, brought tears to my eyes!!!"

The bible is suppost to make you nice Mommy

On school nights my kids bed time is 9:00 pm and I am very strick about that, if their teeth are not brushed and pajama's are not on before 9:00pm I will not come and lay down with them for a few minutes of chit chat. On Monday night around 9:30 I decided the chit chat was over they were getting extremely goofy, so I said in a Mean Mommy voice (o.k. I was yelling) "heads on the pillow and stop talking" Braiden reminded me that "the bible teaches us to be to be nice and not mean." My quick come back was children were to obey their parents and if they were obiedant I would have not yelled.

In reality I fueled that fire with previous statements. When I am trying to find a peaceful place to read scriptures I will always tell my kids give me 30 minutes to read and then I will be nicer to you, which is true but its funny how kids remind you of your own words.

Advice from Braiden

I was giving a talk on Sunday in sacrament I was leaving early for the prayer meeting I gave Braiden and Ashley a huge hug good bye. Braiden's last words for me were "I hope they treat you with respect" that caught me off guard. I never expected them not to but now you gave me something new to worry about.

Answered prayers

My Mother has asked us to call her and tell her when our prayers are answered and she will record them. So I emailed her instead and figuered I would also add this to my blog as a testimony that our prayers are answered and that we have a loving Heavenly Father.

I have been reading my scriptures everyday for 30 mins and before I start I always sing an hymn (sounds horrible) and pray. This day I was reading in 2nd Nephi in hopes of making it thru this time I prayed that I would understand this particular chapter and feel the spirit at the end of 30 mins, I really felt the spirit strong and understood that chapter (my mind didn't drift off as usual). I said another pray thanking my Heavenly Father for understanding, and also while were at it can you help me find those keys I lost a day or two ago. I was prompted not to look for the keys but to write Braidens talk, He was to give that sunday. I went to the computer turned it on and started on his talk went to turn on the printer had to bend over to do so I was in the right position my keys, they were under a few pieces of paper I would have spent hours looking for them. So of course I had to get down on my knees again and thank my Heavenly Father, and wonder why he loves me so much I am not the most obedient child.

Braiden and Ashley were so shocked that they received a dog for Christmas that they didn't believe it all day they were saying are we really taken Butterball home? It was great the biggest suprise ever.
